About Us:
We are a leading ASX 200 financial services company with a strong reputation for driving innovation, customer-centric solutions, and employee engagement. We are a high-performing, forward-thinking organisation that places significant value on our people, and we are passionate about creating an environment where our employees feel valued and rewarded.
We are now seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Remuneration and Benefits to lead our reward and benefits function. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s remuneration and benefits strategy, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives and the evolving needs of our talented workforce.
The Role:
As the Head of Remuneration and Benefits, you will report directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and will lead a small but highly effective team of two direct reports. The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) is highly engaged, warm, and collaborative, and you will work alongside them to ensure our reward programs reflect the company’s culture and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and shape remuneration and benefits strategy: Design, implement, and review remuneration frameworks, including salary structures, short and long-term incentives, and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
- Provide strategic advice: Serve as the trusted advisor to the CEO, CPO, and ELT on all remuneration and benefits-related matters. Ensure the reward strategy aligns with business goals, market trends, and employee expectations.
- Oversee pay and bonus reviews: Lead the annual pay review process, ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment with business performance.
- Drive total rewards philosophy: Work to establish and maintain a competitive total rewards strategy that includes both financial and non-financial elements, reinforcing the company’s values and culture.
- Employee engagement and communication: Ensure transparency and clarity in the communication of compensation and benefits programs to employees. Create materials that articulate the value of total rewards, ensuring employees feel informed and valued.
- Manage external relationships: Work with external consultants and industry bodies to keep the company’s reward programs at the forefront of best practices.
- Team management: Lead and develop two direct reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Compliance and governance: Ensure remuneration and benefits practices comply with relevant regulations and corporate governance requirements.
What You Offer:
- Proven experience in a senior remuneration and benefits role, ideally within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing competitive, equitable, and sustainable remuneration frameworks and benefits programs.
- Experience in a highly engaged environment with the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, including the CEO and ELT.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills with the ability to drive change and advocate for best practices in remuneration and benefits.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in benchmarking and reporting on remuneration data to inform decision-making.
- An understanding of the Australian financial services market, with knowledge of current trends in rewards and benefits.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- A passion for creating a positive employee experience and ensuring employees feel rewarded and engaged.
