HR Director – APAC
This is a global business that has been a serious name in its industry for decades. A corporate, commercial head office leading a national network of branch, sales and service teams.
The market has shifted and there is a rebuild underway. This is a business on a journey and it will suit someone who understands that progress takes patience and more than a framework to move it.
What stands out is their culture. It came up with everyone I met. People here work as a team, they are collaborative and it is a big part of why they stay.
The Opportunity.
An HR leadership role reporting to the Managing Director, leading a team across Australia with oversight of New Zealand and Asia. Australia is where the weight of the role sits and where you will make your mark.
HR here is on the way up and this is the person who takes it forward. You will land a new HR system, build a performance and development framework and rethink how the business attracts talent in a tight market. You’ll have the latitude to shape the function and a team that wants to move with you.
You.
This is a step up for someone who has done the work as a senior people partner or HR manager and is ready to lead in their own right. You’ll balance the hands on alongside the strategy and you’ll lift the capability of the team and the leaders around you; coaching and developing directly rather than working through others from a distance.
You read a room well and people trust you quickly. That credibility is what lets you have the honest conversation when it counts and bring people with you on the journey.
You understand that a business like this moves at its own pace and you’re about building capability over layering on process. You would rather shape something and own how it turns out than keep a tidy function ticking over. A business finding its next chapter is exactly where you do your best work.
