This is a great next move for someone who has built their HR foundations and is ready for more.

The Opportunity.
You don’t need to have seen every HR scenario before, but you do need a solid generalist foundation and the confidence to guide leaders through the everyday challenges that come with managing people.

The remit is broad, the team is lean and there’s plenty of room to grow into the role. Sitting within a small People & Culture team, you’ll become a first point of contact for leaders and employees across the day-to-day people agenda.

There’s the operational backbone; contracts, onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, probation reviews and keeping the employee lifecycle moving. You’ll guide leaders through performance conversations and PIPs, help navigate probation and conduct matters and know when something needs to be escalated. You’ll also get involved in reporting, recruitment, P&C projects and improving some of the processes sitting behind the function.

There is plenty here for someone inquisitive. The business is looking at how things can be done more simply and efficiently, so if you naturally spot a clunky process and think there has to be a better way to do this, you’ll have room to do something about it.

You.
You’re probably sitting in an HR Coordinator, or early Advisor role now and feel ready to take on more.

You’ll have a good grounding in generalist HR and some exposure to employee relations. There is senior support around you (a fantastic GM of HR for one) but you do need the judgement and confidence to have a conversation with a leader, ask the right questions and work through an issue rather than immediately passing it on.

More than anything, we’re looking for someone hungry to learn. You’re inquisitive, organised and naturally take ownership. You follow things through rather than letting them sit half-finished, you’re comfortable dealing with different personalities and you’re the kind of person who will ask ‘why are we doing it this way?’ rather than simply following a process just because it exists.

For someone building a career in HR, there’s a lot of useful exposure here. ER, operations, reporting, projects, process improvement and plenty of access to the broader business.

The Detail.

  • Sydney CBD
  • Circa $100K – $110K base + super
  • Permanent opportunity, with 12-month FTC candidates also welcome
  • Broad generalist remit with genuine development into more advisory and partnering work

If you’ve built the foundations and are looking for the role that lets you properly step into advisory work, this is worth a conversation.
