Senior People Partner
I first recruited into this business back in 2020. The version I briefed on this week is a different beast: a new CEO, fresh investment in people and an HR function being rebuilt around business partnering.
The Business.
A well-known and well established national organisation in the middle of a deliberate period of change. New divisions, new structures, a shift from delivering tasks to owning outcomes. The leadership team is a mix of long-tenured directors and newer arrivals – and they back HR. You’d be walking into a function that’s earned its credibility and is building momentum, off the back of an HR Director who knows exactly what they’re building.
The Role.
Business partnering, front and centre. You’ll own a portfolio of directors and their domains through a period of change: org design, new roles, new ways of working and a workforce finding its feet with all of it. Much of your value sits in uplifting leaders, many of whom were promoted for technical brilliance and are still learning the ‘people’ part. Coaching them through structure changes, performance conversations and the shift to outcome-focused leadership is where you’ll play. You’ll sit in an agile team alongside a peer and a Coordinator who takes the transactional load, and you’ll bring a strength in HR operations that keeps the function disciplined behind the scenes. I’ll walk you through that part properly when we speak.
You.
A confident People Partner who builds trust with senior leaders quickly and challenges well when it counts. You coach naturally, read data and turn it into decisions, and bring structure in a way people thank you for. You’ve guided leaders through change before, and you enjoy working with smart, technically minded people who are serious about what they do.
Why this one?
Because the appetite is there. Leaders who want the support, a function with momentum and wins that land and compound. You’ll have a direct line to an HR Director you can learn from and a function small enough that the model is still yours to influence.
